Economics, Growth and Prosperity | Summer Seminar

A selective, fully funded five-day seminar for outstanding Israeli students seeking a deeper understanding of economic freedom, growth, and public policy.
Learn directly from leading economists and policymakers in an intensive residential setting. Open to undergraduate students in their second year or above, as well as MA and PhD candidates. Admission is limited to 30 participants.

FEI’s five-day residential seminar is designed for outstanding students who want to examine the ideas and policies that shape prosperity. It combines rigorous lectures, small-group discussions, and informal conversations with leading economists and policymakers from Israel and abroad.

Who should apply?
The seminar is open to undergraduate students in their second year or above, as well as MA and PhD candidates from all fields of study. We are looking for applicants with strong intellectual curiosity, academic ability, and a willingness to engage seriously with competing ideas.
Selection and practical details
Admission is limited to 30 participants. Accommodation and meals are fully funded. Applications close on August 13, 2026, at 20:00.

Michael Eisenberg
Michael Eisenberg is a General Partner and co-founder of Aleph, a venture capital fund focused on scaling Israeli entrepreneurs into global brands. He is a frequent contributor to TheMarker and Calcalist and author of The Tree of Life and Prosperity.
Niclas Berggren
Niclas Berggren is Associate Professor of Economics at the Research Institute of Industrial Economics (IFN) in Stockholm and is affiliated with Prague University of Economics and Business. His research focuses on institutional economics, political economy, culture, trust, and economic freedom.
Michael Munger
Michael Munger is political economist, former FTC staff economist, former chair of Duke's political science department, and author of books including Choosing in Groups, The Thing Itself, and Tomorrow 3.0.
José Piñera
José Piñera is a Cato Institute Distinguished Senior Fellow and founder and president of the International Center for Pension Reform. He served as Chile's Secretary of Labor and Social Security.
Yehonatan Givati
Yehonatan Givati is an associate professor at Hebrew University Law School. His scholarly interest lies in economic analysis of law, with theoretical and empirical work in tax law, law enforcement, and administrative law.
Michael Sarel
Michael Sarel is a senior fellow at Kohelet. Until March 2014, he served as Chief Economist and director of state revenue, research, and international affairs at Israel's Ministry of Finance.
